Yes, it really HAS been that long since my last blog. And so may things have transpired since then. 1) SOLD THE HOUSE. These people want to take ownership ex post facto, and I am more than willing to oblige. That means that we will have the Aberdeen house by the 10th of December. We got nearly the money that we wanted. Specifically, we got enough to get Aberdeen and so some other things. Like a new HD TV. It was Kristy’s idea, but I couldn’t agree more. 2) Moved to South Dakota and started my new job. Actually, this is my third week and loving it. There will be a TON of work over the next six months or so, but the people I work with are cool. I feel bad for the guys I left behind. However, it seems that the Devil might be getting his just deserts. Please do not misunderstand, I wish no misfortune on anyone, but something had to be done. More on this later. 3) Kristy and the kids are in Amboy and I am living out of a hotel here in Sioux Falls. We’ll be together soon, just not

Why the hell is it so hard to get people to behave themselves these days? I remember a time when if you were to bid on an eBay auction, perchance win the auction, and were you to write the seller a message, that person MIGHT respond. I just won a little shortwave radio on eBay (a birthday present from my in-laws). Just to get the guy to respond to my mails I had to nearly threaten him! This happened last time with my ego enlarging white Sony headphones (don’t ask, it’s an iPod thing). The auction says "Contact us if you haven’t received your item in one week". Ok, it’s been a week, where’s my stuff? Response: "It was sent yesterday. Tracking e-mail sent to your ebay address." Crapola! I have LOGS of my mail you jackass. No mail. No way. Needless to say, my mails for the tracking number have fallen on deaf ears. Word to the wise, nothing personal, but keep you’re bidding on stuff located IN the US. Makes life a lot easier

So I made a big (for me) sacrifice this weekend. My oldest daughter was in need of her own room (toybox). My wife asked and with NO HESITATION I chose to give up my office. So now, my computers and whatnot are in the living room. It’s not that bad, really, but getting the network going again was a pain. Those little “Ethernet to wireless” bridges really aren’t that great. But close enough for government work. I will post a pic or two later this week. Athen really does like her room. And she deserves it.

The Ortega Family Happy 7th of July! I know, I know I'm late as usual! There are a BUNCH of new pictures in the galleries. I am really proud of the fireworks shots. Some are pretty cool, I think. Everyone had a good time at Athen's party, espically Athen.

The Ortega Family This is the link for the new galleries. I have spent some time working on them and now they are complete. Most of the good old stuff has been moved over. I will post the twins stuff shortly. Please keep in mind that there are three levels to each picuture. The thumbnail, the medium size and the final large (original) size. Click on the thumbnail and then the medium size to get the full size picutre. Dial-up users: The large size picutre has the best quality but will take a long time to download. The medium size picture will give good 4x6 prints. Right click on the pictures and select "Save Picture As.." to get a copy. You can also request the full size picture from me. I can send CDs out if necessary (i.e. you want a lot of the full size pictures)

I finally got the new gallery portion of the website working. I had a LOT of help from yoyo, but finally the system is processing pictures correctly. The new gallery is here . I will leave the old stuff up for the time being, but as I migrate things over, the old gallery will disapear. Let me know what you think! E

See, I told you that I would be posting more often now. I spent a good portion of the day yesterday trying to get Gallery working, with no luck. You can see the ongoing process in the Gallery . Maybe, maybe I can get it worked out and make the photo section look a little nicer. Maybe

I had to fire the old site. I was getting kludgy and hard to use and update. The baby pictures are still at here . I will be adding some old features back very soon, but for now it's just these two posts. And I promise to blog more often.

I am really bad at this, aren’t I? Well, where to begin. The babies (ies..) came about seven weeks ago on the 14th of May to be exact. They are truly a blessing! We had some (are having some) issues with feeding and weight gain, but hopefully we are past the really, really hard part. An assortment of people have been helping us out with everything. Two newborns and a 2 year old (Happy Birthday Athen!) can make like a little interesting. So a big thank you goes out to both grandmothers and grandfathers. I do apologize that I have been delinquent in my posting duties, but lately I can’t guarantee that I will get a shower on any given day. Though I do try. Really I do.
